2 years in... a lifetime to go!

So this post is a little late but better late than never right?

My husband has officially been an officer for 2 years and thankfully still loving  it. I don't think that will change. We really are blessed that God put in his heart so early and that he followed it. This year he is getting to see many different sides to the job though. See in my last entry I shared he was in a motorcycle accident and luckily he only had road rash and bruising. Well turns out that he broke his wrist. He was still in pain about 2 weeks ago so we thought might as well get it re X-ray'd and sure enough now he has a cast. This means he is on desk duty for 2 months! Hopefully they will only do about 6 weeks but we will see. Anyway, he thought he was going to be hanging out with the clerical ladies for that time but so far they have put him in accident investigations, meaning he get to proof read everyone's reports. Doesn't sound very exciting to me but it is kind of perfect from him.The best thing is that they can even do that too. They joke around with him, of course, but overall everyone has been super supportive. Although it did ruin our mini babymoon since he lost his 6 days off to have to go work inside but to have him come home happy everyday is just fine with me. I have a substitute for my teaching position if we want to get away once he is all healed.

Speaking of baby... we are having ourselves a little boy! We are so excited about it! At first I thought I wanted a girl but week by week this want for a little boy grew stronger and stronger. And all the "old wives tales" were telling us girl so to see that ultrasound was such a shock and excitement! We are even going to go all CHP themed with the shower and nursery. I mean why not? We are proud of the life we live and the organization he is a part of. It really is a part of our family. Besides there is so much "just like daddy" or "daddy's backup" stuff out there I could just die!

Even though people don't stay at his office very long... watching friends leave more and more, I love this office and this career he chose. Ready to see what it bring with a little one too!
